Unable to Share Files Folder Printer in Network Windows 11

1. Fix Permissions (Error 0x80070522)
If you are getting permission errors while sharing, you need to grant the "Everyone" group proper access.
  • Right-click the folder you want to share and select Properties.
  • Go to the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing.
  • Check Share this folder.
  • Click Permissions, select Everyone, and check Full Control, Change, and Read.
  • Click Apply/OK, then in the Security tab, ensure "Everyone" also has permission there.

2. Enable Network Discovery and File Sharing

  • Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.
  • Ensure Network discovery and File and printer sharing are turned on under the Private profile.
  • Under All Networks, you may need to Turn off password protected sharing temporarily to test if it's an authentication issue.

3. Enable Insecure Guest Logons (Fixes Access Denied)

  • Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and hit Enter to open Group Policy Editor.
  • Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation.
  • Double-click Enable insecure guest logons and set it to Enabled

4. Enable SMB 1.0 (For Legacy Devices)

  • Search for "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Start menu.
  • Scroll down, find SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support, check it, and click OK.
  • Restart your computer.

5. Check Network Profile

Ensure your network is set to Private, not Public.

  • Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi (or Ethernet).
  • Click on your network connection and set the Network profile type to Private
